A polite reminder and request
Thank you to everyone who has been submitting records online this year (2010). Please keep them coming in.
Over the last few weeks some recorders have been putting in incorrect grid references or only part of a Kent postcode. Please could I kindly ask all online recorders to make sure their grid references are correct and that if you use a postcode you enter the full code and not just the first part (e.g ME16)
Also some new recorders have been making up their own online recorders ID before requesting one. Please could I kindly ask you do not enter any records online until you have received your recorders ID, as if there is any problems with your record(s) and we cannot contact you, they will not be included.

Information Update:
Online Recording has now closed until 2010. We reached a new record this year.
An impressive total of 2004 records were submitted online!
Online recording has closed earlier this year to allow the records to be entered and submitted to our head office, for inclusion in the millennium atalas update. All records for 2009 have to be with our head office before the end of this year.
Thank you to everyone who took the time and sent in their butterfly records. All this years records will be given to Mike Easterbrook (Branch Butterfly Recorder) on Friday 2nd October 2009.
Please could I ask all members/visitors who have submitted records online (this year) to inform me of any errors before Thursday 1st October.

Guardian.co.uk would like your help!
They are running an online request for members of the public to submit thier butterfly photos onto a Flickr group and are also helping with the tracking of the Painted Lady. They will also be asking people to vote on the best photos from a short-list. There are no prizes. If you wish to submit your photos or find out more please visit
The closing date for submitting all photos is 16th June.
Two new Heath Fritillary photos, by Marc Heath, have been added to the Butterfly Gallery page.
Many members will have been reading and observing the Painted Lady invasion, over the last few weeks. Online recording has seen a very high number of records being submitted for this species. I would like to ask our members to send in to me via email their own stories and observations of the invasion. Please see the contacts page for email address details.

Welcome to the new look Kent Branch website. As part of our 25 years celebrations we have given our branch website a makeover. I started re-writing the website in October, and in just over six weeks it was completed, with over 300 pages being re-designed.
Hopefully everything should be working, but if any member of visitors finds an error etc please contact me and I will resolve the issue ASAP.
At the Kent Branch AGM I launced the new look website. Over the next few months we will be adding more photos, videos and content. Many thanks to everyone who kindly sent in new articles and hotspots, following my request in September.
The AditLite download is currently unavailable, due to some issues with the program. We hope to resolve the issues over the next few weeks and then be able to bring back the program/download in December 08.
