Local and increasingly widespread recent colonist. The first Kent record from September 2015, when with a leaf mine found on Blackthorn was reared in Aylesham (VC15). First recorded in VC16 in 2020. A species that seems to be rapidly expanding its range.
The larvae mine the leaves of various rosaceous trees, including Blackthorn, forming a gallery that leads to a blotch. Frass may be observed outside the mine. Mines can sometimes be quite numerous.

Grade 3 — adults are hard to separate from other species, so photos showing all critical ID features will be required, or in some cases a voucher specimen (seek advice before releasing the moth).
Grade R — records of leafmines will only be accepted if the moth is reared and, in some cases, dissected.
