Common and widespread across Kent. Any gaps in distribution may even be down to lack of recorder coverage rather than the absence of the moth. An unmistakable Hawk-moth with an unusual resting posture whereby the hindwings are pushed forward in front of the forewings.
Grade 1 — adults are generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species, but records outside documented range or flight period may require photos.
