Online Recording 2010 Information

A polite reminder and request:

Thank you to everyone who has been submitting records online this year (2010). Please keep them coming in.

Over the last few weeks some online recorders have been putting in incorrect grid references or only part of a Kent postcode. Please could I kindly ask all online recorders to make sure their grid references are correct and that if you use a postcode you enter the full code and not just the first part (e.g ME16)

Also some new recorders have been making up their own online recorders ID before requesting one. Please could I kindly ask you do not enter any records online until you have received your recorders ID, as if there is any problems with your record(s) and we cannot contact you, they will not be included.

Thank you for your co-operation
Ben Kirby - Webmaster - 16/07/10

Online recording for the 2010 season is now fully open.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to submit their butterfly records online over the last few years. Your records have helped us monitor the status of the butterflies in Kent and have also provided important data for the millennium atlas update, being published by our head office.

This year (2010) we have made some changes to the online recording system. Over the years we have asked you to enter your contact telephone number and email address, incase we needed to contact you with regards to a sightings etc. This year we have ammened the recording form to replace these two options with a Recorders ID box instead.

Online recorders will need to request (only once a year) a Recorders ID, before they submit any records online. Once you receive your Recorders ID please enter it each time you submit your records/sightings online. This ID will allow us to find your contact details more easily.

Online Recorders can request a Recorders ID by clicking here

Please fill in the form and then press the submit button. Please could we ask that you make sure the details you submit are correct, otherwise we will not be able to contact you with your Recorders ID.

If you are sending in your records by paper (post) or by email to our branch butterlfy recorder, please include your full details and NOT your online recorders ID. Your online recorders ID is only valid on our online recording pages.

Thank you.
